Last night I had the most unsettling dream. I was having a nightmare within my dream and trying to distinguish between the nightmare and reality by waking myself up from the nightmare. Since I was dreaming of the nightmare, 'waking up' just meant going back to my dream. It took a while before I actually woke up and realized that my dream was not reality. For all I know I'm still dreaming right now and it was a nightmare within a dream of a dream.
It reminded me of the 1994 movie "In the Mouth of Madness" by John Carpenter, one of the best horror movies of all time. It's one of very few horror films that left a lingering impression on me. I went back to search for it on YouTube and was happy to find a full length of it available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACbKoMEBs-M&feature=related. I highly recommend it if you're into subtle, creepy and mind-boggling horror films as oppose to the slasher movies popular today. It's broken up into parts due to length limits set by YouTube. Of course the best way to watch it is still in the dark with a large screen TV.
