For my next stop-motion project I wanted to try something different. I haven't abandon Blink; but until I figure out how to make him fly I need something else to work on. I looked through YouTube for ideas and found a couple of interesting animation using white board. I decided to give it a try.
Many, many, many, many hours later, I finally have something to show for. The problem with me is that I always want to tell a story so I end up making a much longer film than required. The class I'm making the film for asks for eight assignments, each about 8-10 secs long. This one ended up being 1:18. I'm pretty happy with it though. Because I didn't tie down the white board, I had some problems with it moving around. Also, taking photos with one hand while acting with the other is pretty damn tricky. When I'm famous I'm going to hire an assistant.
Another interesting note is that I seem to have a habit of timing my frames too quickly. After making the film at 24fps (frames-per-second), I adjusted it to 20fps and it looked much more natural.
After I was done with the film, I took a look at the white board and noticed that Calvin had redrawn some of the objects in the film. It made me smile.

Awesome. Each film keeps getting better and better. I especially liked the angry eyes before you had added any arms, legs, or mouth. And also how the head popped off the body when he jumped up demanding legs. I loved it!
