Quick and dirty Blink

Here is a quick and dirty clip of Blink that I made this afternoon. I didn't really think through the storyline very well and did it in one shot. It was really an exercise to see what it's like to animate a clay puppet. As expected, it's hard to keep the clay forms consistent. It's obvious that Blink's physical integrity deteriorated as the film progressed. In a 'real film' I would need to be much more careful when I handle him, and be ready to touch-up whenever necessary.

The beginning sequence with my hands was done with pixilation. Ideally I would like to use both hands but that meant I would need an assistant to take the pictures. I have not yet implemented the tie-down mechanism which is why Blink stayed seated.

I'm still sleep deprived and sick. ING Bay to Breakers is this Sunday. I was planning to run today but I just didn't feel well enough to. If I don't get much better I may have to walk the race or part of it. I wasn't planning to set any record anyway so I'd be a little bummed but it won't take away the fun that I'm sure to have.

Going to try to get more Zs tonight. Tomorrow is another day!
