Lip-sync to HitchHiker's Guide

Today was my last run before the Sunday race. I decided to go back to Stanford Dish for some hill workout, after having skipped it for a month. Result: meh. I did not seem to have improved in tackling the hills, though I didn't do any worse either. After the race I really need to work on hills and speed since my next Half is likely going to be either the Santa Cruz or the San Francisco Marathon!

Anyway, I've gone off the topic of this entry. I had been working on a project for the 'Sound for Animation' class I'm taking. The assignment is to find a short sound clip and lip-sync a puppet to it. Introducing 'Sybil', our in-house puppet used primarily for stop-motion animation. He has been 'digitized' for the purpose of projects such as the one I worked on. Sybil comes with 22 mouth positions and 39 eye positions.

There are several websites that provide free sound clips, primarily from well-known movies and TV shows. I sampled several and picked out three; eventually narrowed down to one. I used Adobe Premiere, though Flash probably would've worked just as well. I had so much fun working on this project that I was starting to wonder if I should look into sound engineering.

Enjoy!
